The
Improvement Network website helps people to improve local public services. Chiefly aimed at senior and middle managers in councils in England, it is also useful for anyone with an interest in improving local services.
The website helps you to plan how to improve, and provides practical problem-solving tools, real-life examples of services that have been improved and signposts to useful advice and data. This website has been developed and supported by four national organisations (Audit Commission, IDeA, CIPFA and the Employers Organisation) with unrivalled knowledge of improving local services.
The Performance Management, Measurement and Information project (PMMI), is part of the strategic collaboration between the IDeA and the Audit Commission and is designed to bring performance management together in a whole new, more effective and more consistent way.
The PMMI site has a wealth of information, guidance and case studies and links on performance management from performance management culture, the role of leaders to the essentials of effective performance management frameworks.
The aim of the project is to develop a common approach and language on performance management in all areas of work, from publications to consultancy and audit and inspection.
The
Public Sector Benchmarking Service, launched in November 2000, has been developed as a partnership between the Cabinet Office and HM Customs & Excise with the key aim of promoting effective benchmarking and sharing good practices across the public sector.
