The library is a joint project run by the Audit Commission (external link) and the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) (external link). It is a free on-line service aimed at helping local authorities and their partners monitor and improve their progress in meeting local priorities.

The library offers:

• A database of local performance indicators
• Good practice publications and web links for performance management and measurement
• Links to other source of national and vountary PIs and data providers, including latest guidance for BVPIs
• Latest news on PI development, including latest updates for pilots
