library of local performance indicators
Step by step guidance
  1. Enter the library. On the first page you will see a list of indicator categories.

  2. Select the category of your choice. A list of indicators will be displayed, along with further subdivisions of the category if available. To view the indicators skip to step 4 below.

  3. To narrow the search, select a further category title. To view the list of indicators skip to step 4 below. Categories can be filtered down to a maximum of three levels.

  4. To view the indicators listed, scroll down the page. Where there is a large number of indicators they will be displayed page by page. To move between the pages, select the page number required from the drop down list at the top right hand corner of the PI list.

  5. Each indicator is displayed in the list with its reference number and short PI title. To view more detailed information, click on the 'info' tab on the left hand side. Close the window to return to the list.

  6. To include a PI in your local selection, click on the right hand box next to the indicator to display a tick. To deselect, click again on the box to remove the tick.

  7. Continue viewing and selecting the PIs. You can return to the main index at any stage, or go back to the previous index to view another set of PIs, using the 'route map' displayed at the top of the page. The indicators you have selected will be retained until you are ready to download your selection.

  8. When you have searched all the categories you want to view and selected your PIs, click 'view selection' from the menu. A list of the indicators selected will be displayed. You can 'deselect' any indicators (as detailed in 6 above), or select 'Return to library to select more indicators'. When ready to download, select 'view selection' as detailed above, and select your options for download.

  9. Select the appropriate format and select the items of information required. Select 'download' and the document will be displayed in the format selected. Save the file using 'File' and then 'Save as', from the menu displayed in Excel or Word.

  10. After saving, you may download again in a different format by repeating step 9 above, or select 'Exit' to start a new search or to return to the Library of Local PIs home page.

Notes
References to government or other statistical return forms are intended to define the nature of the information, not the period in relation to which it is to be published. The definitions cite the latest available version of these forms; subsequent versions may be slightly different and should not be referred to in this context. Data must be for the financial year for which the indicator is being reported.

Population figures should be the Registrar-General's mid year estimates for the year being reported, or if these are not available, the figure for the previous year, or an extrapolation if there has been a significant change to the population eg altered boundaries.
